Snow-capped trees and mountain peaks, icicles hanging from roofs, and a glistening white snow carpet: Winter hiking in Davos Klosters is a truly enchanting experience! You can see your breath as you exhale. Fresh mountain air gently blows around your ears, as you pull your beanie over them and just enjoy the peace and quiet all around you. Exercise at higher altitudes and in a beautiful mountain setting has an invigorating effect on your entire body. And afterwards, you can warm up at a cosy mountain restaurant or on the sundeck of a hut, savouring local delicacies. A highlight of every winter holiday!

A wonderful experience in winter

In the mountains of Davos Klosters, a large number of groomed and easily accessible hiking trails is open to visitors from December to April. Follow the pink markings, and you’ll enjoy a safe and unforgettable winter hiking experience in the mountain paradise of Davos Klosters!

On Pischa, Rinerhorn and Jakobshorn, winter hikers can comfortably reach higher altitudes by taking the cable car or lift. Then, your hiking experience starts – right amidst a beautiful Alpine landscape. The routes on our mountains are suitable for hikers of all ages, families, groups and people with dogs. Winter hiking unites!
Packing tips: Sturdy footwear, appropriate winter clothing, sun protection and, if necessary, trekking poles are part of every good hiker's packing list.

The interactive map shows all signposted and secured winter hiking trails (in pink). At the ticket offices of the mountain railways and at the reception desk of the Mountain Hotels, the slope maps are also available in print and in a format, which fits in every jacket or trouser pocket. Perfect for when you’re out and about!

Also in the valley there are a multitude of hiking routes, perfect for a short walk or for an outing on a bad weather day. The routes you can find on the winter hiking map of Davos Klosters Mountains, which you can download as a PDF.

In the mountains of Davos Klosters you can find several photo points with wooden frames, a beautiful photo scene for a unique photo memory of your holiday in the mountains. The Photopoints are marked on the slope map and can be perfectly combined with a hike.

Winter hiking on Jakobshorn

There are several exciting winter hiking routes on Jakobshorn.

A popular and short tour starts on the summit towards Lake Stadlersee. The available seating options along the trail are great locations for a break where you can enjoy wonderful scenic views. This route can also be combined with a subsequent visit to one of the sundecks of Jatzhütte or Châlet Güggel. That’s the perfect way to end your hike in a relaxed and cosy manner.

Panorama tour on Pischa

A loop amidst a winter paradise: The hike to Hüreli on Pischa is an absolute highlight for winter hikers!
You can get to Hüreli from the mountain station via a hiking trail that leads you along the mountain ridge. From there, you’ll enjoy a unique view of Davos, and the photo point is the perfect location for a holiday snapshot!

The mostly straight trail leads you back the same way. Alternatively, you can take the trail down to the valley at the first junction. Sturdy footwear is required for this hike.

Scenic loop on Pischa

This loop on Pischa leads you through high-alpine terrain surrounded by an awe-inspiring mountain scenery. You’ll pass areas of pristine snow under bright blue skies. A truly impressive hike in a tranquil setting, and an absolute must-do in winter!

Hiking for families on Rinerhorn

Fun with the whole family: The hiking trails on Rinerhorn are perfect for winter hikers of all ages. Because the motto is: Boredom won’t stand a chance! Kids have the opportunity to go sledging while their parents take a leisurely walk towards the valley station.

  • End point: Rinerhorn valley station
  • Duration: 2 h (downhill), 3 h (uphill)

Totalp trail on Parsenn

The easy tour starts at the Weissfluhjoch mountain station. The trail runs along the slope towards the igloo village. The final destination of the trail is the Totalp restaurant. On the lounge chair or in the bar with its glazed roof, the enjoyment of the mountains and, of course, the culinary delights are guaranteed. Strengthened, you can take the slightly ascending way back to the mountain station Weissfluhjoch.

Loop hike  Gotschna

A beautiful loop trail in the middle of the mountain scenery is waiting for you on the Gotschnagrat. From Klosters you can reach the winter mountain world in 10 minutes by gondola. On the easy hike you don't have to cover many metres in altitude.

Some of the Mountain Hotels and Resorts are perfect for winter hikers. They are close to the winter hiking trails and also offer additional comfort. You can relax even on a bad weather day. Hotels like the Davoserhof in the heart of Davos Platz or the Waldhuus right on the edge of the forest are waiting to be discovered by you.
