Pischa is the hidden gem among the mountains of Davos Klosters and a popular destination for those wanting to enjoy various winter sports away from the crowds. Freeride skiing and snowboarding, speed touring snowshoeing, winter hiking, fat biking or airboarding – the alternative winter sports resort offers something for every taste.
Freeriding
Welcome to a paradise for freeriders and ski tourers! Pischa is one of the few freeride resorts in Switzerland – and you won’t find a single groomed slope here. Instead, the recreational area of Davos Klosters offers several signposted and (if open) secured freeride routes. Thanks to a pristine snow cover and glistening powder snow, freeride skiers and snowboarders feel right at home on the descents of Pischa. All you need to do is get an inexpensive lift ticket, and the cable car takes you right to the starting point of the freeride routes. Two descents – number 6 and 7 – lead you down into Pischa Valley. Other routes can be used at your own risk.
Safety first: If you decide to head out into the backcountry, it’s always at your own risk! You must be aware of possible avalanche dangers and know what you’re doing when you’re off-piste skiing or snowboarding. Please do not attempt to go freeriding without the necessary know-how and equipment, and always keep an eye on the current avalanche warnings!
Speed touring
If you’d rather head uphill, you should give the Dynafit Speedfit Trail a try. The route from the valley up to the mountain station is especially popular with speed tourers. Enjoying the silence around you, getting your pulse up, pushing your limits, and improving your speed with every ascent: That’s what speed touring is all about. So: Who will be the first to reach the mountain station? Of course, the route can also be used by those who prefer a more leisurely pace.
Winter hiking
When the snow crunches underneath your feet and you’re hiking through the mountain world of Pischa, you’ve arrived at our local recreational area. Four signposted trails let you relax and enjoy nature. We recommend you wear sturdy footwear and bring your trekking poles.
The most beautiful hiking route leads you from the mountain station onto Hüreli and back – which will take you about two to three hours. The highlight of the route is the scenic-view and photo point up on Hüreli with a beautiful view of Davos.
Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing enjoys increasing popularity among nature lovers, too. Hiking across a sparkling white snow carpet on snowshoes is an absolute must-do when you’re on Pischa. What’s the level of relaxation you can reach when you’re out on the signposted route? 100 per cent! Relaxation and pleasure take centre stage when you’re exploring the mountain on snowshoes.
The most beautiful snowshoe route leads you through a pine forest up to the mountain station or, in the opposite direction, down into the valley – a tour that’ll take you about two to three hours. By the way: Snowshoes can be rented on site.
Fat biking and airboarding
Dashing down the mountain curve by curve on a bright sunny day, as you firmly sit on the saddle of a bike – that’s something you can enjoy in winter as well. The fat bikes let you ride down into the valley on groomed and signposted trails. Those who would like to be a little closer to the ground should give airboarding a try. You can hurl yourself headfirst down the descents of Pischa on these inflatable high-tech bodyboards designed for use on snow. To steer, all you need to do is shift your weight to either side. Ready, steady – and go!
Tip: Fat bikes and airboards can be rented on site.

A mountain without groomed slopes and with plenty of room for all kinds of sports in the snow – that’s Pischa. Freeride opportunities as far as the eye can see and diverse routes for snowshoeing: Winter at the recreation area on Pischa provides a perfect blend of sports, action, relaxation and pleasure. Visitors benefit from attractive prices for cable car tickets.
Culinary offers on Pischa
On Pischa in Flüelatal Valley, guests have two different options for an atmospheric break. Either they take advantage of the comfortable ambiance at the mountain station or stop by at the cosy Mäderbeiz where they can relax on sheepskins by the fireplace. The hosts at Pischa mountain restaurant and the Fontana family of Mäderbeiz will make sure that your break becomes a culinary pleasure as well. From delicious fondue to soups or a selection of cold cuts and cheeses: There’s hardly a better way to refuel for your next adventure in the snow.
Pischa Bus
The Pischabus leaves several times a day and takes winter sports enthusiasts up to Pischa. It shuttles back and forth between Seehofseeli bus stop (the former Pischa terminal) in Davos Dorf (near the Parsenn valley station) and the Pischa valley station.
